Adjunct Professor - Criminal Justice
Job ResponsibilitiesTeach Criminal Justice courses in a face to face modality at the Airport Campus and/or Beltline campuses of MTC. Must be available to teach on-site classes between the hours of 8:00 am - 12:30 pm either Mondays/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching Criminal Justice courses by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area. Prepares materials needed for course instruction and testing. Keeps student records and adheres to course schedules. Uses learning management systems to communicate with students, faculty, and staff. Participates in the collection of student learning outcomes. Assists the Criminal Justice Program Director with timely responses when needed. Conducts lectures, discussions, and other teaching activities. Relates instruction and material to course objectives. Provides students with course syllabi and correlates grade assignments with skill and course competency. Submits grades, reports, and records in a timely manner. Remains current in field.This position is located at the Midlands Technical College - Beltline CampusMinimum And Additional RequirementsMaster's degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology or a Master's Degree with at least 18 credit hours in Criminal justice/Criminology.Preferred QualificationsAt least two (2) years practical work experience in the field of Criminal Justice (Law Enforcement preferred).Additional CommentsAdjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,911.50 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
