Mathematics Professor

Job ResponsibilitiesThe Mathematics Department at Midlands Technical College invites applications for a full-time Mathematics Professor position beginning Fall 2026. We are seeking an engaging and student-centered educator who is passionate about helping students successfully navigate their academic pathways. The ideal candidate values collaboration, demonstrates adaptability, and is committed to delivering high-quality instruction across a range of mathematics courses.Midlands Technical College serves it's student population through Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree programs as well as Associate in Arts and Associate in Science (AA/AS) transfer pathways. This position plays a key role in supporting student success in both career-focused and transfer-oriented mathematics courses.Primary ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Instruction (60%)Deliver high-quality instruction in mathematics courses using a variety of teaching methods and technologiesFoster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environmentAssess and evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedbackMaintain accurate records of student progress and course outcomesInstructional Development and Management (15%)Develop, review, and revise course materials to ensure alignment with departmental and institutional standardsParticipate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiativesUtilize data to inform instructional practices and enhance student learning outcomesStudent Communication and Engagement (10%)Maintain regular communication with students through office hours, email, and other platformsProvide academic support and guidance outside of scheduled class timeEncourage student engagement and persistence through proactive outreachProfessional Development (10%)Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current in teaching practices, technology, and the field of mathematicsEngage in departmental and institutional training opportunitiesCollege Service (5%)Contribute to departmental, division, and college-wide initiativesParticipate in meetings, committees, and campus activities as appropriateAdditional ExpectationsDemonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with faculty and staffAdapt to changes in curriculum, scheduling, and instructional delivery methodsSupport the mission and values of Midlands Technical CollegeThis position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.Minimum And Additional RequirementsA master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics and/or statistics, along with experience teaching mathematics.Preferred QualificationsMasters degree in Mathematics with experience teaching at the college level.
