Jacksonville, FL, United States (On-site) Contract (4 months 29 days) Published 13 hours ago spring security api integration DevOps / CI/CD SDLC & Agile Methodologies Development & Quality spring boot unit testing Java & Microservices We are seeking a skilled and motivated Open API Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java-based development, API design, and integration with internal and external systems, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and open standards (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger). Build scalable backend services using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or similar. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, product) to define API requirements and specifications. Develop and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications. Ensure APIs are secure, well-tested, and follow best practices in authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT, etc.). Optimize application performance and scalability. Integrate APIs with third-party services, microservices, and enterprise systems. Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code following coding standards. Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure code quality. Participate in CI/CD processes and contribute to deployment pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher). Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring REST, Spring Security). Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices. Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger for API design and documentation. Knowledge of JSON, XML, and API data formats. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with API gateways (Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, etc.). Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Understanding of database technologies (SQL/NoSQL such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Exposure to performance tuning and monitoring tools. Certification in Java or cloud technologies is a plus. The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $34.67/hour - $54.18/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
