We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Bariatric Surgery Nurse Navigator facilitates patient navigation to bariatric surgery during the pre-op, intra-op and post- op phases according to the standardized bariatric surgery patient clinical care pathway. Additionally, this role works with the bariatric surgeons' office to help prepare the patient for surgery and after hospital discharge care as well as coordinating with the multidisciplinary care team in the hospital care continuum to facilitate patient care from immediate post op through hospital discharge.Utilizes current bariatric surgery patient clinical care pathway to guide patient navigation from pre-op, intra-op and post op phase of bariatric surgery care.Collaborates with the bariatric surgeons' office to prepare patient for surgery by providing pre-op patient education.Creates effective working relationships with the hospital multidisciplinary care team to prepare patient for hospital discharge.Provide 1:1 patient discharge education as per current bariatric discharge process.Performs other job duties as directed by the Program Director.What qualifications you will need:Minimum one year caring for surgical patients required, two years preferredCurrent RN license with eligibility to work in the state of Virginia requiredOne year experience in Bariatric Surgery Patient Care preferredEnrolled in a bachelors of nursing program or BSN achievedMust have BLS - American Heart Association or CPR (American Red Cross) - at time of hireProficiency in Word and Excel applicationBenefitsParham Doctors Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
