In this classroom, you will work with children aged 3 to 5. As a teacher, you will create an age-appropriate lesson plan, build relationships with your families, maintain cleanliness throughout your classroom, update parents through our daily reports, and show patience and kindness to children.Pay starts between $17.00 - $18.00 based on education and experience. On-going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.Benefits:All Employees will accrue Personal Time (PTO) for every 40 hours worked. PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.Sick Pay will be accrued for every 40 hours worked. A maximum of 48 hours will be applied to each employee's policy and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.Holiday payBirthday off with payResponsibilities:Develop a fun and creative lesson plan suitable for age groupEmploy a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach childrenObserve each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteemEncourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional argumentsGuide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).Track children's progress and report to parentsCommunicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.Collaborate with other educators.Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.Desired Skills and Experience:Experience working in a licensed childcare facility45 DCF Training HoursCDA preferredExcellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methodsFamiliarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classroomsExcellent communication and instructional skillsAbility to act as a mediator between childrenCool-tempered, friendly, and reliableCertification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
