Well-established organization with a long-standing presence in Connecticut—offers strong stability and long-term growth Recognized multiple times as a “Best Place to Work”, with a culture that genuinely prioritizes its people Employee-focused environment with strong internal engagement and a collaborative, team-oriented feel Backed by a larger multi-entity group, offering the support and resources of a bigger organization while maintaining a close-knit atmosphere Competitive benefits package, including heavily subsidized medical coverage Strong 401(k) program with guaranteed company contribution + additional profit sharingResponsibilities Of Senior Staff AccountantThis individual must work collaboratively with internal office personnel, external customers, and union trade craftspeople in managing and coordinating all mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing construction activities to meet accounting objectivesThis role is responsible for maintaining the job cost accounting functions under the direction of the ControllerThe role will assist project managers by preparing AIA billings and will be responsible for proactively monitoring and following up with customers' invoice payment schedulingPerform project accounts payable/receivable functions under the direction of the ControllerServe as liaison between the accounting division and project managers to ensure invoice integrityEnter invoices into accounting software (Timberline/Sage 300 paperless)Review / Manage lien waivers for subcontractors and general contractorsReconcile subcontract and vendor invoices with committed costs and confirm that COIs are still valid prior to paying subsManage insurance requirements for all subcontractorsSetup schedule of values in the job cost module for project billingPrepare / Submit Monthly AIA for paymentPrepare AIAs for Service and help manage subs for serviceReview pencils with PMs and work with them on punch list items, holding up paymentsEnter change orders and the schedule of valuesBackup for entering Certified payrolls on various contractor portalsReview Job Cost reports and cost to complete estimates with the management teamAssist with other administrative and accounting duties as neededPreferred Experience Of Senior Staff AccountantA bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related experience is a plus, but not requiredMust have experience in the construction industryStrong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers, vendors, and subcontractors#INMAR2026
