Operations Manager (Sheet Metal Division)
Role OverviewA well-established mechanical contractor in NYC is seeking a Operations Manager (Sheet Metal Division) to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of their sheet metal division.This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing field operations, shop production, and drafting coordination, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day operations of the sheet metal division across multiple projectsOversee field crews, shop labor, and drafting teams to ensure seamless project executionDevelop and manage project schedules aligned with cost and production targetsReview contract drawings, specifications, and ensure compliance across all workEstablish and implement project-specific sheet metal shop standardsManage procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for all projectsTrack labor, production, and performance across active jobsCoordinate weekly timesheets for field and shop labor with accountingLead hiring, training, and performance management of field and shop personnelRequirementsMinimum 5+ years’ experience in a sheet metal supervisory or leadership roleStrong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation methodsSolid understanding of industry codes, standards, and best practicesProven ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate production workflowsAbility to read and interpret contract drawings and specificationsExperience working alongside drafting / CAD teamsKnowledge of Local 28 work rules is highly desirableOSHA 30 certification requiredProject ExperienceCommercial projects ranging from $50K – $1MExperience managing multiple concurrent projects preferredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary (commensurate with experience)Full benefits package including medical insurance and 401KCompany vehicle + gas / insurance allowanceClear progression into senior leadership within the businessProSource Group is a specialist recruitment company whose primary focus is recruiting within the Construction & Civil Engineering industries throughout North America, Ireland & Europe
