Software Engineering Manager

Location: Candidates must be based in the Eastern Time Zone or able to consistently work Eastern Time hours.Client: Healthcare technology organization building cloud native platforms for Medicaid planning, trust management, eldercare services, and B2B SaaS productsThe Role:Lead the architecture and development of scalable, data intensive SaaS platforms using Python, FastAPI, React, and AWS.You will remain hands on while providing technical direction, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and establishing strong engineering standards across multiple platforms.You will:Architect backend services using Python, FastAPI, AWS, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQLBuild and scale data pipelines and high volume processing workflowsDevelop frontend applications using ReactWrite infrastructure as code using TerraformManage CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and DockerLead code reviews and enforce unit and end to end testing standardsMentor and provide technical direction to a distributed engineering teamOwn application performance, reliability, scalability, and data integrityCollaborate with DevOps teams on deployments, environments, and toolingThe Role Requires:5+ years of software engineering experience2+ years of experience leading and managing engineersStrong hands on experience with Python and FastAPIStrong AWS experience, including Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3, SQS, and IAMExperience with ReactExperience building large scale data pipelines and ETL workflowsExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases, ideally DynamoDB and PostgreSQLWorking knowledge of Terraform and production grade CI/CDExperience with Docker and Git based development workflowsStrong code review, testing, mentoring, and technical leadership skillsNice to Have:Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated environmentsFamiliarity with SOC 2, HIPAA, or secure by design practicesExperience with event driven systems such as SQS, Kinesis, or KafkaExperience building developer tooling or reusable librariesThis is a senior hands on management opportunity for someone who enjoys designing systems, writing high quality code, and developing strong engineering teams.
