5-Axis CNC Machinist (Aerospace)

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team in Shelby Township, MI. As a key player in our aerospace manufacturing division, you will be responsible for producing high-precision components that meet the stringent standards of the aerospace industry. If you have a passion for machining and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate 5-axis CNC mills to produce complex aerospace components.Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure precision in machining.Perform tooling changes and adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.Conduct shop math calculations to ensure accurate measurements and tolerances.Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve issues.Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.QualificationsExperience as a CNC Machinist, specifically with 5-axis VMCs.Understanding of GD&T principles and their application in machining.Proficient in CNC tooling and setup, with a focus on aerospace components.Solid shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.Experience with 3-4 axis VMCs is a plus.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Benefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offVision insuranceSchedule10 hour shift12 hour shiftDay shiftOvertimeWeekends as neededSupplemental PayBonus opportunitiesWork Location: In personEqual Employment OpportunitySmith Brothers Tool Company is an equal opportunity employer.
