CNC Machinist
CNC MachinistThis role focuses on operating and editing programs on Haas 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills to machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints and exact dimensions. You will work with a variety of materials and perform precision machining operations using modern equipment in a clean, well-equipped facility.Read and interpret blueprints to understand part specifications, tolerances, and machining requirements. Set up CNC mills by downloading programs, securing fixtures, selecting and installing tooling, and offsetting parts as required. Operate Haas 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills to machine parts from plate or flat stock to precise dimensions. Edit G&M code programs at the machine using Fanuc-style and Haas controllers to improve quality, optimize cycle time, and resolve issues. Machine a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, brass, steel, and hardened steel, while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Perform machining operations such as turning, boring, threading, drilling, reaming, milling flats, and milling grooves as part of the production process. Use digital micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions and ensure parts meet quality standards. Sharpen cutting tools as needed to maintain optimal cutting performance and extend tool life. Perform your own setups when required, including loading programs, adjusting offsets, and verifying first-piece quality.At least 3 years of experience operating 3-axis CNC mills in a production or job shop environment. Proficiency operating Haas CNC mills, including experience with 3-axis machines and familiarity with 4-axis operation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Strong skills in reading and using digital micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Hands-on experience with G&M code editing on Fanuc-style and Haas controllers. Ability to perform machine setup, including downloading programs, selecting and installing tooling, offsetting parts, and fixturing workpieces. Experience machining common metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, brass, steel, and hardened steel. Capability to perform basic machining operations including drilling, reaming, threading, boring, and milling flats and grooves.This is a permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI. The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
