Machine OperatorFull TimeLocation: South Bend, IN, USSalary: $19.75 HourlyJob Title: Machine OperatorReports to: Production SupervisorFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSchedule: Monday through Thursday (6:00AM to 4:30PM) overtime as neededEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Regular and predictable attendanceOperates welding machinesOperates resistance weldersOperates rollersOperates pressesOperates high pressure testersSets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or templatePositions work piece against stops or guidesPushes button or depresses pedal to activate machineObserves machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctionMeasures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operationPerforms minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work piecesUses air drills and wire brushes to clean final productPackages final productPerforms housekeeping tasks keeping work areas cleanAdditional duties may be assigned or removed, as business needs dictatePrior work experience, specialized skills, and knowledge:Ability to work as part of a team and cooperate with othersAttention to detailSound judgement, discretion, and high level of civilityInitiative to drive organizational processesPhysical environment/working conditions:Works in a manufacturing environment in warm or cold temperatures.
