Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionAs a Reliability Engineer, you are optimizing site infrastructure and utility systems (HVAC, RO/DI, gases, etc.) through trend analysis and data-driven strategies to maximize reliability, efficiency, and resource utilization. You drive operational excellence by conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to resolve recurring issues, improve maintenance plans, and minimize equipment downtime and process bottlenecks.The OpportunityIn this role, you may be required to work nights or weekends on occasion (project/activity specific) and provide after-hours support. In this role, you areOptimizing site facility infrastructure and control systems, including utilities, HVAC, and RO/DI, by analyzing system trends to increase capacity and resource efficiencyEliminating operational losses and equipment bottlenecks by conducting root cause analyses using 5-Whys and Fishbone methodologies to implement permanent technical solutionsAdvancing equipment reliability and asset lifespans by developing predictive maintenance plans and investigating downtime patterns to minimize unscheduled disruptionsDriving data-driven process improvements and reporting to align facility performance with site planning strategies and stakeholder requirementsManaging vendor relationships and contract lifecycles to ensure high service standards, cost control, and the mitigation of safety and operational risksExecuting energy conservation projects and sustainability initiatives by auditing consumption data to meet corporate environmental goalsDirecting site asset management and Facility Condition Assessments (LCAM) while providing technical training and SOP development for operations and maintenance staffWho You AreYou hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field (required)2+ years in maintenance, plant engineering and/or facilities management An equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptedBehaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicantKnowledge of HVAC, utilities, electrical and energy management systemsWorking knowledge of building automation / process control systems preferredAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong computer skills, strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, SAP, Google Workspace Diagnostics, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical industry and/or high-tech industry knowledge preferredRelocation benefits are not offered for this position.The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of California, is 76,900.00 - 142,700.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
