Maintenance Technician III - Topping/Packaging

As a Machining/Welding Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in keeping our production running smoothly. This hands-on position is responsible for performing a variety of machining, welding, and fabrication tasks to support the maintenance and repair of our production equipment. Responsibilities: Work in a safe manner with a sense of urgency while maintaining a safe and orderly work area. Assist with major repairs and fabrication projects, including the construction and installation of new plant equipment. Weld and fabricate stainless steel and other materials using appropriate welding methods (TIG, MIG). Operate a variety of power tools (metal shears, benders, grinders, punch press, lathe, milling machining, band saws, drill press, etc.) and use of precision measuring and testing instruments. Read and interpret mechanical schematics, maintenance manuals, and safety documents to guide repair and installation tasks. Use of technology to complete work orders and enter maintenance logs into SAP. Support plant teams by sharing best practices in promoting equipment care. Participate in company-provided training to expand your trade skills and stay current with best practices in safety and maintenance. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; a two-year degree in a maintenance-related trade is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, welding, or fabrication. Strong attention to detail, safety-first mindset, and effective communicator. Solid understanding of mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods. Years of Related Experience: 5+ years of related experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to perform all duties of Maintenance I & II; Knowledge of PLC software andability to perform minor PLC program adjustments on equipment and ability to troubleshoot and replace I/O modules ina PLC; Advanced electrical skills required such as ability to use a voltage/ohm meter, amp meter, ability tounderstand and use electrical schematic to determine control wiring, ability to check and troubleshoot single phaseand three phase wiring, ability to check heater packs on motor starters and able to check for open circuit in controlwing; Arc Flash trained; Basic to advanced building skills required such as ability to join PVC pipe, use an electricdrain snake, mix concrete, grout tile troubleshoot dock leveler, ability to add/change oil & troubleshoot/repair anair compressor, repair & maintain forklifts and maintain plant aerial equipment; Ability to be certified as a boilertechnician; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, andprocedure manuals. Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagramform, and complete required paperwork. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, usingwhole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages,area, circumference and volume. Mechanical knowledge and ability to expand knowledge and skills via on-the-job andformal training directed at increasing job-related skills as mandated by management/Supervisor, including allrequired OSHA training; basic computer skills, including SAP Maintenance Module; Ability to obtain a valid forkliftlicense; Ability to comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, Stateand Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations; Must be able to lift ninety(90) lbs.
