Central Office Field Technician/Alabama multi-state Athens, United States | Posted on 03/24/2026 Multi-State Travel (AL, KS, NC & additional sites) / Prefer living close to AL, Kansas/ Missouri and North Carolina We are seeking experienced Central Office Field Technicians with a strong background in legacy telecommunications infrastructure to support multi-site projects beginning in April. This is a project-based contract role supporting installations, circuit work, and network activities across multiple Central Office locations. Travel is required. Hours may vary based on project needs and site schedules. Responsibilities Perform installation and support activities within Central Office environments Work with legacy POTS infrastructure and copper circuits Support DACS/DCS systems (Alcatel 1631 or similar platforms) Install, test, and maintain T1, T3, and SONET (OC3) circuits Perform circuit grooming, cross-connects, and jumper work Follow telco standards and safety procedures Document work performed and coordinate with project teams Required Qualifications Experience working in telecommunications Central Office environments Strong background in legacy telco technologies Hands-on POTS experience DACS or DCS system experience (Alcatel preferred) Experience with T1, T3, or SONET (OC3) transport technologies Ability and willingness to travel to project sitesStrong troubleshooting and installation skills Preferred Former carrier or telecom contractor experience Network migration or decommissioning project experience Ability to work independently in field environments Contract-only role (not full-time employment) Hourly rate: $32.00–$35.00 Hours will vary depending on project schedules and site activity J-18808-Ljbffr
