Here's what you need to know about this position:Start Date: Immediate start, with ongoing coverage needed.Holidays: Enjoy the flexibility to observe holidays, including New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.Coverage Type: This role involves call-only coverage, focusing on handling admissions and consultations for unassigned or Emergency Department (ED) patients.Admissions: Admissions are required, providing the opportunity to manage a diverse range of surgical cases.Patient Load: Expect to handle approximately 4 patients per shift, focusing on acute surgical care.Call Details: This is a 24-hour shift from 7 am to 7 am the next day. General Surgeons will be covering their own patients, and this coverage is specifically for unassigned or ED patients.Call Type: You will receive calls via beeper for unassigned ED patients and may need to consult on inpatients as necessary.Consultation: While fully supported by hospitalist and ICU attending coverage, you may need to consult on inpatients when required. Additional Details: Surgical Scope: This position involves surgery only, without endoscopy procedures.License Requirement: A valid Massachusetts medical license is required for consideration.Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
