Financial Analyst
Description:
We are looking for a highly driven Financial Analyst expert who is primarily in charge of all business forecasting. A strong candidate combines a strong analytical mindset with technical ability and excellent people skills. The role will be a critical member of the Accounting and Finance team, reporting to the Vice President of Finance. As Able continues to service the air freight market for perishable and pharma goods, this position supports the analysis in decision-making in all matters operational, financial, and strategic.
Requirements:
Assist in preparing the monthly financial statements including performing variance analysis vs. prior year and budget
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
Partnering with business leaders to review monthly financials and weekly KPIs
Lead the annual budget process and maintain the company financial model
Assist in pricing new business opportunities and performing other ad hoc analyses to support various business decisions
Support the preparation of the quarterly and monthly presentations for the Board and our Investors
Must demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and compliance capability while in the workplace and/or performing duties on behalf of Able Freight
Align with Able Freight’s stated Mission, Vision and Values, following and while enforcing standard policies as indicated in the Employee Handbook
All other work-related duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of financial planning & analysis experience is preferred
Passion and excitement for numbers and creative problem solving
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Three statement financial modeling
Ability to analyze large data sets and draw conclusions from sometimes messy data
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v/x lookup formulas, charts and graphs)
Experiencing building BI dashboards and the ability to navigate/retrieve information from a relational database
Ability to work independently; thrive in fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities
Experience working for a Private Equity backed business
Strong attention to detail and highly organized
Curious learner with strong ethic of continuous improvement
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Advanced level computer skills in MS Office (e.g., Word, Outlook)
Ability to work independently; thrive in fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities

EDUCATION
A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or in a relevant technical subject
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in the freight forwarding, airline, or logistics industry
