This role provides critical technical knowledge and hands-on design support across multiple phases of an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) environment. The position involves producing and checking complex designs, coordinating with cross-discipline teams, and ensuring work is delivered in compliance with scope, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.Role's ResponsibilitiesPrepare and check designs of intermediate complexity using 3D modeling and 2D CADD automation toolsCoordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clientsPerform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulationsProvide technical support for equipment/material procurement, subcontracting, and vendor submittal reviewProvide technical support during construction, including RFIs, field changes, and walkdownsEnsure all work is executed per the approved project scope, cost, schedule, and quality requirementsOriginate, modify, and review drawings; direct junior drafters as neededPerform advanced and intermediate design calculations (lighting, raceway/wire sizing, voltage drop, cable pulling, panel board/breaker sizing, junction box sizing)Perform electrical material take-offs and provide field assistanceMust Have QualificationsRequirement (Work Authorization): U.S. Citizenship requiredEducation: Associate degree in a related technical fieldExperience: Minimum 10 years of related work experience in electrical, I&C, or communications design/draftingExperience: EPC services on industrial projectsSoftware Knowledge: Proficiency with Bentley MicroStation and Intergraph Smart3D (S3D)Skill: Ability to originate and produce drawings with minimal supervisionSkill: Ability to interpret field direction, create and modify drawings, and support field walkdownsKnowledge: Applicable federal (including DOE orders), state, and local codes and standardsKnowledge: Discipline codes and standards with ability to perform design work in compliance with statutes and guidelinesSkill: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Skill: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interface with management, vendors, and clientsSkill: Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of commercial availability and cost of materialsExperience with ASME NQA-1 nuclear facility design requirementsPractical field experience in construction or EPC environmentsEPC project experience in DOE, federal government agencies, or nuclear facilities under a QA programIndustry experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology projectsAdvanced knowledge of:2D CAD and 3D CAD systemsIntergraph SmartPlant Electrical softwareIntergraph SmartPlant Review softwareElectrical design requirements (grounding, lighting, wiring, motors, conduit sizing, panel boards, hazardous locations)Join iParametrics’ National Response & Project Support NetworkAt iParametrics, we connect talented professionals with high-impact projects that make a difference—whether it’s supporting federal initiatives, advancing major infrastructure programs, or responding to critical emergencies.
