Join a team that is STRONGER THAN STEELSM, by applying to become a Manufacturing Engineer at one of our locations.SUMMARYThe Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms, research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipmentPrepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipmentCoordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating resultsDesigns, implements and tests/sources and cost justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methodsPerforms product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiencyRepresents manufacturing on cross functional teamsQUALIFICATIONSPlanning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time spanManagement; the ability to organize and manage multiple prioritiesTechnical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including layout, assembly and production equipmentProduct development experienceQuality orientation and attention to detailProblem analysis and problem resolutionExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong team playerAbility to solve complex problems and a variety of changing needs under stressSolid decision making skillsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEBachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.Computer assisted design proficiency.Computer proficiency.The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.* Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.REASONING ABILITY* Abstract reasoning abilityPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLifting: Occasional, up to 50 lbs.Standing: 8 + hours per dayWalking: off and on, 4-6 hours per dayBody positions; squatting, bending, extending arms, stooping, reaching overheadGrasping: both hands up to 4 hours per daySitting: OccasionallyPushing: OccasionallyClimbing: OccasionallyAvailability to travel 50% or moreWORK ENVIRONMENT* Office & Manufacturing PlantCLARKDIETRICH BENEFITS INCLUDEFull benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts and Life Insurance)401(k) with company matchAnnual IncentivePaid Time OffTuition ReimbursementCommunity Service DayCompany Provided Life/STD/LTD Insurance
