Responsibilities:
Teach an integrated mathematics curriculum to middle-school students in a K-8 setting to about 20 students
Collaborate in the design and implementation of an integrated curriculum
Work to ensure academic excellence, by fully knowing students and adapting curricula to meet their needs
Keep careful anecdotal and assessment records to write accurate, comprehensive student reports that reflect student growth and support their future education
Write detailed math teacher recommendations for all Grade 8 students as part of the high school placement process, including collaboration with the placement team and participation in meetings with families as needed
Act as an advisor to a group of middle-school students
Chaperone overnight and/or extended grade-level trips, as applicable, in support of the teaching team, student experience, and the academic and advisory program
Fulfill all duties, responsibilities, and commitments as outlined in the school's Guidebook and the organization's code of conduct
Engage in ongoing communication with parents/guardians
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
B.A./B.S. degree in Education, Mathematics, or an equivalent degree or educational qualification from an accredited college or university
At least two years of full-time teaching experience in K-8 public or independent schools beyond student teaching
At least three years of teaching algebra
Strong skills in mathematics learning with problem-solving, number sense, and understanding of the core web-based technologies and applications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Wide-ranging intellectual and educational interests
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a related field
Knowledge of Spanish
Knowledge of latest research and thinking about mathematics education
Familiarity with new technologies

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
