We're excited to provide the best education in the best environment to our students!Academies of Math and Science6th & 7th Grade Math Teacher ($2,000 Sign-On)Location:3335 W Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85035Start: 7/20/2026Compensation Range: $48,331.25 - $54,571.89 annually (DOE)Position OverviewAcademies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K-8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven Middle School Math Teacher (Grades 6-8) to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that strengthens scholars' mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe all scholars can achieve at high levels through structured instruction, strong classroom culture, and consistent data-driven decision-making.This role requires a teacher who is committed to supporting students in Title I communities while maintaining high academic expectations and fostering a structured, engaging learning environment that prepares students for high school success.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student AchievementDeliver rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction aligned with AMS curriculum frameworks for middle school grades.Build strong foundations in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, algebraic thinking, and quantitative analysis.Design engaging lessons that promote conceptual understanding and real-world application of math concepts.Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning and targeted interventions.Classroom Culture & Student SupportEstablish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies to support student behavior and engagement.Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.Encourage persistence, collaboration, and critical thinking when solving complex problems.Collaboration & Professional GrowthParticipate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.Contribute to school-wide initiatives focused on STEM education and academic achievement.Use student data and reflective practices to continuously improve instruction.Family EngagementCommunicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations.Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.Provide families with strategies and resources to support math learning at home.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following requirements:Valid teaching certification in Mathematics or a relevant subject area, ORBachelor's degree in a related field of study (e.g., Mathematics, Education, STEM field, or similar field), ORMinimum of three (3) years of K-8 teaching experienceAdditionally, candidates must:Demonstrate strong classroom management skillsShow commitment to serving Title I and multilingual learner communitiesPossess strong analytical abilities and enthusiasm for data-driven instructionDemonstrate collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environmentPass required background checks and obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
