Travel Radiation Therapist
American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT(T) certification for a multi-site outpatient Radiation Oncology position in the Wilmington, NC coastal region. Job Details • Outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic setting across two clinical sites in the Wilmington, NC area, • Primary site operates 3 Varian linacs and one CT simulator; sister site (approximately 25-30 minutes north) operates one Varian TrueBeam and a Siemens CT simulator, • Floating between both clinic locations is required based on volume and coverage needs, • Patient ratio of 1:5, • Adult acute care patient population, • Procedures include IMRT, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, external beam therapy, beam modifying/positioning, custom molds, custom shields, MRI, PET scan, and tumor localization; travelers will NOT be expected to cut blocks, perform CT sims independently, or perform dose calculations, • Uses ARIA (Varian) EMR; experience required, • Schedule is manager-assigned, primarily 5x8s Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm or occasionally 9:00am-6:00pm; 4x10 shift options (7:00am-5:30pm or 8:00am-6:30pm) are available depending on clinic needs, • No call or on-call requirement, • No weekend requirement, • 13-week contracts only, Job Requirements • Active ARRT(T) certification required; license required if applicable, • Current BLS certification required, • Minimum of 2 years of relevant Radiation Therapy experience required, • Experience with Varian equipment (Varian 21EX/IX, TrueBeam) and Eclipse/Pinnacle treatment planning systems, • Proficiency with ARIA EMR, • Skills in CT/iCT simulation, IMRT, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, wedges, external beam therapy, and radiation safety, • Familiarity with isolation precautions, lift/transfer devices, and use of rapid response/code teams, • Two manager/supervisor professional references from within the past 2 years required for consideration (pending references acceptable at time of submission), Additional Information • Therapists are always paired with at least one other therapist - no solo assignments, • An MD and RN are on-site throughout the day at all times, • No facility orientation or dimensions training required; candidates can start directly at the clinic, • Weekly orientation and pre-start online modules (approx. 4-5 hours for non-acute roles) are required to be completed before the start date, • Royal blue scrubs required; not provided by the facility, • Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment; additional RTO beyond 7 days requires facility approval, • Candidate must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, • Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and could be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters, • Open to first-time travelers, • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate, • Travel pairs are allowed, provided each has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules, • Previous permanent, PRN, or per diem employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
