Python Software Developer

*Job Description* We are seeking a Python Software Developer to modernize and migrate legacy business applications developed in C# and .NET into scalable Python-based solutions. The ideal candidate will analyze existing applications, understand business logic, redesign system architecture where appropriate, and develop maintainable Python applications while ensuring feature parity and data integrity. *Key Responsibilities* * Maintain compatibility with existing databases and external systems during migration. * Develop automated tests to validate migrated functionality. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the migration process. * Document application architecture, migration decisions, and technical specifications. * Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate migrated features and ensure functional equivalence. * Analyze and understand existing C# and .NET applications. * Migrate legacy business logic and workflows to Python. * Rewrite and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions. * Develop Python applications and services that replace legacy functionality. * Integrate internal and third-party systems using REST and SOAP web services. * Work with XML, JSON, CSV, and other data formats for system integrations. *Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. * 3+ years of professional software development experience. * Strong proficiency in Python and modern Python development practices. * Professional experience developing applications in C# and the .NET Framework/.NET Core. * Experience migrating or modernizing legacy applications. * Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL. * Experience with REST and SOAP web service integration. * Proficiency working with XML, JSON, and structured data formats. * Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software architecture. * Experience using Git or other version control systems. * Strong analytical and debugging skills. *Preferred Qualifications: * * Experience converting enterprise or healthcare applications from .NET to Python. * Experience with PyODBC, SQLAlchemy, Pandas, or similar Python data libraries. * Experience with Django*. * * Familiarity with Windows Services, scheduled jobs, or background processing. * Experience with Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines. * Knowledge of API authentication, OAuth, and security best practices. * Experience working with OCR, document processing, or automation is a plus. *Technical Skills* * Category -Technologies Languages - Python, C#, SQL Frameworks -.NET Framework, .NET Core, Django Rest, Django Databases -Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, APIs, REST, SOAP Data Formats - XML, JSON, CSV Tools - Git, Visual Studio, VS Code, SSMS, Postman Libraries - PyODBC, SQLAlchemy, Pandas Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Vision insurance Ability to Relocate: * Torrance, CA 90501: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
