Assembly Tech/Material Handler
Assembly Technician / Material Handler Position Summary:
The Assembly Technician / Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production operations by assembling automotive components and ensuring timely delivery and handling of materials throughout the warehouse. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Assembly Technician / Material Handler Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Duties:
* Assemble and inspect automotive components according to standardized procedures
* Use power tools and hand tools to install nuts, bolts, screws, and other fasteners
* Alternate between workstations and assembly tasks throughout the shift
* Perform quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications
* Work collaboratively in a diverse team environment to achieve daily production targets
* Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
Material Handling Duties:
* Ensure machines and workstations are stocked with the necessary materials
* Retrieve and deliver extruded material, crates, and boxes to designated areas
* Move completed goods to the transition area and partial boxes to appropriate locations
* Receive and verify incoming freight; inspect and document per standard procedures
* Load and ship outgoing freight according to proper documentation and verification standards
* Put away and pick up items from warehouse stock as needed
* Maintain accurate driver shipping and receiving logs
* Conduct daily inspections of lift trucks and material handling equipment
* Support general warehouse and order processing activities
Additional Responsibilities:
* Participate in Kaizen/continuous improvement activities to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency
* Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision to meet production and shipping requirements
Assembly Technician / Material Handler Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing, light industrial, or warehouse setting preferred
* Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
* Ability to handle small parts and perform detailed work in a high-speed production environment
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety
* Stable work history and reliable attendance
* Forklift experience required and must successfully pass a forklift operator exam.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
* Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time
Pay Rate & Schedule:
* $21.00/hour
* Monday – Friday
* 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed)
