Shop ManagerLocation: Southaven, MSHourly Range: $30-$36/hr with ample overtime availableOverview:We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Shop Manager to lead our diesel mechanic shop. This role combines leadership, operations, and technical oversight. The ideal candidate has strong experience managing teams in a mechanic or heavy equipment environment and is ready to ensure smooth daily operations, maintain inventory, and support the team when needed.Key Responsibilities:• Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day shop activities, ensuring work goals are met efficiently and safely.• Staff Management: Hire, train, supervise, and mentor staff. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and take personnel actions as needed, including promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures.• Inventory Management: Maintain parts and supply inventory for diesel and heavy equipment. Order stock, organize supplies, and ensure the shop is clean and visually organized.• Customer & Team Support: Interact directly with customers and staff, stepping in to assist with mechanical work when necessary.• Reporting & Meetings: Meet weekly with ownership to review operations and participate in monthly management meetings.Qualifications:• Experience: 3-5 years in a shop or mechanic environment, with management or team lead experience preferred. Experience with diesel equipment and trailers is highly valued.• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
