Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6 pm to 6 am Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado Certifications: BLS & NRP required; ACLS certification preferred Must-Have: - Minimum of an Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program. - Two years of experience is required. Description: Provide direct patient care and monitor the patient's response during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. Assist and educate patients in breastfeeding as needed. Promote wellness for patients during pregnancy and after delivery through continuous education. Provide education to caregivers about infant care. Document all events and education in the patient medical record utilizing computers. Communicate the patient's condition verbally and in writing to the physician and nursing supervisor. Assist staff in maintaining skills and learning new procedures and equipment. Collaborate with nursery staff in the care of mother/baby couplet. Assist healthcare providers with procedures. Support nursing management as requested. Assist staff with emergencies in other nursing units when possible. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all patients.
