The NST primary development focus is on new technologies and the continued growth and success of the organization, through both the NST and Bradford White brands.Primary FunctionThe Manufacturing Manager is responsible for achieving operational goals and leading the Production Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams in an assembly environment. This role requires effective leadership, strategic planning, and a focus on continuous improvement to meet production goals and ensure high-quality output.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily plant operations including production and manufacturing engineeringCollaborate cross-departmentally to identify and resolve operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and quality issuesLead, mentor and develop, production, manufacturing engineering and staff in a union environmentAnalyze production data and implement corrective actions when necessaryWork closely with the Manufacturing Engineer team on capital expenditure projects and plant modernization planningManage the operation’s annual operating budget to ensure cost control and optimization of resourcesDevelop, implement, and maintain safety programs to improve safety.Promote strong collaboration and teamwork with internal and external business partnersCollaborate with senior leadership in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plansResponsible for creating a team environment between many different departments, fostering open communication, and breaking down barriers to efficienciesDrive formal process improvements to increase productivity/efficiency, reduce manufacturing costs, inventory levels, etc.Ensure production meets customer schedules, while maintaining the highest quality standards and plant operating efficiency with optimized resource utilizationLead the development of operating systems and programs to support key business objectives including health & safety, increased production output, continuous improvement, scrap reduction, quality initiatives, and employee engagement and retentionJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing management role, metal welding environment preferred3-5 years’ experience managing operations with multiple processes (Production, Engineering, etc.)Ability to problem solve in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated servant leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsProven understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvementExcellent communication skills; ability to communicate openly and directly with all levels of the organizationCustom and repeatable production metal working experience in a welding environment preferred
