Schedule is manager-set; traveler will work 8:00 AM 5:00 PM and occasionally 9:00 AM 6:00 PM based on department needs.Travel Requirements: Float coverage between two clinical sites in the Wilmington, NC Coastal Region; the sister site is approximately a 30-minute drive away (north end of Wilmington).Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Job SummaryThis contract is for local float coverage of two different clinical sites in the Wilmington, NC Coastal Region. The primary site has 3 Varian linacs and one CT sim. The sister site is approximately a 30-minute drive away (north end of Wilmington) and has one Varian True Beam as well as a Siemens CT simulator. Pending volumes and coverage needs, the traveler would float between these offices. The traveler will NOT be expected to cut blocks, perform CT sims alone, or perform dose calculations. There are always an MD and an RN on-site throughout the day. Additionally, there will be opportunities for the traveler to opt for 4x10-hour shifts if desired (but not required). Therapists do not work alone, so the traveler would always be paired with at least one other therapist. No dimensions or orientation are needed for this role the traveler will start directly in the clinic.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide radiation therapy services with float coverage across two Wilmington, NC area clinical sites as needed based on volumes and coverage requirements.Operate Varian linac systems (including Varian True Beam and Varian 21 ex/ix) and Siemens CT simulator equipment.Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging, External Beam Therapy, and IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy).Perform beam modifying and positioning, wedge placement, and tumor localization.Operate treatment planning and record-and-verify systems including Aria (Varian), Pinnacle (Philips), and Eclipse (Varian).Apply isolation precautions and radiation safety protocols.Utilize rapid response/code teams as required.Perform simulation of treatment sites.Work as part of a team therapist will always be paired with at least one other therapist; MD and RN are on-site throughout the day.Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster.
