Location: Lufkin, TXPosition Number: P#576Schedule: Monday-Friday; approximately 29 hours per weekCompensation: $12.50 per hourPosition OverviewBurke is seeking a Part-Time Vocational Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities in a structured vocational and community-based setting. This role focuses on daily client support, skill development, socialization training, and promoting independence in a safe and supportive environment.The Vocational Specialist assists with daily activities, supports community integration, and works collaboratively with program staff to help clients develop vocational and life skills.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide daily supervision and support to program participantsAssist with skills development and socialization trainingSupport activities of daily living, including meal monitoring and medication administrationPromote a safe, structured, and supportive program environmentFacilitate community integration activitiesComplete documentation accurately and in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducationRequired: High school diploma or GEDExperiencePreferred: One (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilitiesLicenses & Additional RequirementsValid Texas driver's license with an insurable driving recordAbility to complete required training (SAMA, CPR/First Aid, Defensive & Van Driving, and employee training modules)Ability to use a computer to complete documentation and maintain detailed recordsPhysical RequirementsAbility to see, hear, and communicate effectivelyAbility to walk, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 poundsAbility to drive a vehicleHand and finger dexterity for routine tasks and documentationWhy Join Burke?This part-time role offers consistent weekday hours and hands-on experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in vocational and community settings.
