We are excited about what San Antonio Aerospace has to offer you as an employee and think that you will enjoy your newfound home!Summary JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for mechanical maintenance and repair of commercial aircraft types.Responsibilities ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine access / open ups / servicing, etc. Performs lubrication Licensed to operate scissor lifts and snorkel lifts Understands tagging, CB lockout procedures, and fuel cell entry procedures Component removal / installation with limited supervision Assist in “basic rigging” / adjustment tests Basic understanding of A/C fueling / servicing/marshalling Become familiar with system operations / cockpit layout Understand hazards associated with flight control operations Job SpecificationsWorking knowledge or ability to acquire skills in the following: Safety wiring Engine servicing Engine CSD servicing Tire inflation A/C wash rack/cleaning procedures A/C lube procedures Panel removal/install Hydraulic servicing procedures A/C marshalling Torque wrench values/operation Basic safety procedures Engine cowling opening APU servicing Cargo door operation General knowledge of all aircraft manuals and other required materials Additional functions as outlined by OJT sheet Working Environment SUPERVISION: Under the general direction of a supervisor. Normally performs duties after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is usually reviewed upon completion. INTERPERSONAL RELATION: A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to remove and replace parts in a timely manner. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one’s own safety due to the dangers involved. The working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and report to work regularly.Job Qualifications EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required. PREFFERED: 24 months commercial/military A/C maintenance experience.A&P license or specialized training.A/C troubleshooting & rigging experience.Operational checks and engine R/R.
