Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling) with strong shop-floor experience in fixture design, manufacturing process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and implementing manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks, along with expertise in GD&T, time studies, line balancing, Value Stream Mapping, and root cause analysis.Roles & Responsibilities:Design and develop manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.Create 3D fixture layouts, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings using GD&T.Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Shop-Floor teams to validate fixture concepts and support production trials.Troubleshoot and resolve fixture, tooling, quality, and manufacturing issues on the shop floor.Drive process capability, productivity, quality, and efficiency improvements through effective fixture and tooling solutions.Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions, operator instructions, and safety procedures.Study assembly lines and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles.Conduct time studies, including elemental breakdown, video time studies, and VA/NVA/RNVA analysis.Perform line balancing and analyze cycle times, production capacity, bottlenecks, and process constraints.Develop Current-State and Future-State Value Stream Maps (VSM) and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve process flow.Perform capacity analysis and identify productivity improvement opportunities.Develop and implement process improvement roadmaps and continuous improvement plans.Create and update Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and Video Work Instructions (VWIs).Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for quality failures, defects, downtime, and process issues.Support corrective actions and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurring problems.Participate in and support Kaizen events and Lean continuous improvement initiatives.Evaluate fixture designs based on manufacturing requirements, safety, ergonomics, quality, cost, and ease of use.Support fixture fabrication, testing, validation, and implementation on the production floor.Maintain engineering drawings, process documentation, work instructions, and other manufacturing records.Track improvement results and measure impact on productivity, quality, cycle time, and capacity.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.Hands-on shop-floor manufacturing experience is mandatory.Experience with fixture design and manufacturing.Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.Experience developing work instructions and standardized work.Experience conducting time studies and line-balancing activities.Experience with Value Stream Mapping and Lean Manufacturing.Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience supporting Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives.Preferred Experience:Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, automotive, welding, or fabrication environments.Experience working directly with production and shop-floor teams.Experience designing welding, assembly, inspection, or production fixtures.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project-management skills.
