Job Summary:
Cali Dumpling is seeking a passionate and outgoing Culinary Sales Representative with experience in Asian cuisine and bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese). This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about food, has a strong culinary background in Asian cuisine, and enjoys building relationships with sales representatives and retail partners. You will educate partners on our product line, assist with promotions, and enhance product awareness within local markets. This position involves moderate local travel and provides valuable experience in sales and culinary relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaison with Sales Representatives and Retail Partners:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with distributor sales reps and retail partners.
Effectively communicate product information and updates in both English and Chinese.
Provide product resources and support to assist sales reps and partners in promoting our Asian product line.
Product Promotion and Culinary Education:
Visit local restaurants and retail partners to provide culinary education on the optimal preparation and presentation of our Asian food products.
Assist in conducting training sessions and demonstrations to highlight the best ways to showcase our products, focusing on Asian cuisine.
Promotional Activities and Sales Engagement:
Help organize and participate in promotional demos and events targeted toward Asian cuisine enthusiasts and restaurant owners.
Work with marketing teams to tailor promotional strategies for the Asian food market.
Engage with restaurant staff and retail partners to boost product awareness, especially within the Chinese-speaking community.
Sales Growth and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze sales data, particularly in Asian markets.
Provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams to enhance sales strategies.
Prepare and present reports on sales activities, customer feedback, and market opportunities.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Experience in Asian cuisine and food preparation is a must.
Previous experience in sales, customer service, or the food and beverage industry is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Bilingual proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is required.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for promoting food products, particularly Asian cuisine.
Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours.
Basic culinary knowledge of Asian food products and preparation techniques.
Self-motivated with a foundational understanding of relationship building and sales.
Technical Proficiency:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
