Manufacturing Controller – Cost Accounting & AerospaceWe are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to identify a hands-on Manufacturing Controller with deep cost accounting experience.This opportunity is ideal for someone who knows manufacturing accounting from the ground up not simply financial reporting, but what happens when raw material enters a facility, moves through production and WIP, absorbs labor and overhead, becomes finished goods, and ultimately flows through COGS.We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within aerospace, precision machining, engineered products, or other discrete manufacturing environments.What You'll OwnThis role will work closely with plant and operations leadership and take direct responsibility for the integrity of manufacturing accounting, including:Standard costing and product costingRaw material, WIP and finished goods inventoryMaterial, labor and overhead absorptionPurchase price and production variancesInventory reconciliations, cycle counts and physical inventoriesManufacturing-related balance sheet reconciliationsInventory reserves and valuationMonth-end close and COGS accuracyBOMs, routings and manufacturing master dataERP accounting processes and data integrityYou'll spend time understanding what is actually happening within the operation, identifying where accounting processes or data are breaking down, and implementing practical solutions that improve accuracy and consistency.What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who can get into the details.You should be comfortable walking onto a manufacturing floor, understanding how production activity moves through the ERP and accounting system, investigating a cost or inventory variance, and working directly with operations to determine the root cause.Strong candidates will bring:5+ years of accounting experience within industrial or discrete manufacturingDeep manufacturing cost accounting and inventory experienceStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP as it relates to inventory and manufacturing accountingHands-on experience with WIP, standard costing, variances, labor and overhead allocation, reconciliations and month-end closeExperience working within a manufacturing ERPBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplineAerospace or precision machining experience strongly preferredExperience with JobBOSS2, Epicor, ERP implementations/conversions, multi-site manufacturing or acquisition integrations is especially valuable.This is not a corporate FP&A position or a purely financial reporting Controller role.
