Shape high‑performance buildings with DMG (an Ambient Company)DMG is a growing sales and distribution team representing leading HVAC manufacturers. With 150+ teammates across offices in Castro Valley, San Jose, Fremont, and the greater Bay Area, we offer an excellent benefits package, competitive pay, and a welcoming, family‑style culture.A day in your roleYou roll up to a commercial job site in the Bay Area, laptop in hand. The installing contractor is ready to turn over a new Daikin or LG VRF system. You verify wiring against schematics, confirm refrigerant circuit integrity, and bring the system online. On your touchscreen, you program setpoints and sequences, then jump onto the BMS to validate communications. An alarm pops—no problem. You trace the logic, isolate the fault to a controls parameter, and resolve it. Before leaving, you document every action taken in a clear service report and submit the startup package so the warranty is locked in.The next stop is an AAON package unit with advanced controls. You coordinate with the crew that installed it, fine‑tune the control loops, and ensure the installation meets industry standards and safety requirements. You finish by syncing notes, emailing stakeholders, and planning tomorrow’s startup. What you’ll handleOn‑site startup and commissioning for multiple manufacturers’ commercial HVAC systems (Daikin, AAON, LG, and more)Troubleshooting and validating control system installations, including BMS communication and functionalityProgramming new control interfaces via touchscreens and computersReading and interpreting wiring diagrams, manuals, and sequences of operationClear communication with installing parties to resolve issues using reasoning and logicDocumentation of site actions on service reports; completion and submission of startup/warranty packetsGeneral HVAC service tasks, preventive maintenance, and assigned duties with reliable attendanceWhat you knowHVAC trade practices, industry standards, and refrigeration system theoryMaterials, methods, and tools for installing, operating, and repairing commercial HVAC/RElectrical theory as applied to HVAC equipment and controlsBrazing and soldering techniques; applicable health and safety regulationsRecord‑keeping best practices; proper storage/handling of equipment and materialsVRF systems and refrigerant properties at an expert levelHVAC control systems and troubleshooting techniquesAutomated temperature control platforms; BMS communicationsMechanical, electrical, and hydronic systems in commercial applicationsModern computer‑based HVAC tools; email, internet apps, office software, and basic networkingEducation and experienceHigh school diploma or G.E.D.Two years of an HVAC training programLicenses and requirementsValid California licenseActive EPA Universal Technician CertificationCompensation and benefits$40-$60/hr DOE.
