Superintendent | Industrial Construction - Southeast Travel
Role: Traveling Superintendent Project Types: Light-industrial, warehouses, and cold storage projects Location: Travel locations primarily throughout the Southeast (TX, FL, GA), with additional projects in MI, IN, and KS.The duties of a Traveling Superintendent include overseeing the daily operations of construction projects from inception to completion as well as visiting the worksites within your territory. Work schedules, compliance checks, and safety inspections are just a few of the responsibilities you will oversee day to day. You will work independently to manage subcontractors and oversee projects to assure they are finished on time and within budget. ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day construction field activities to ensure that project milestone dates and overall schedule completion dates are met.Travel throughout the country. Typical two-week schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off.Review blueprints, customer needs and contractor submissions in order to execute appropriate bids.Lead team with construction project planning and developing site logistics.Monitor subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and safety guidelines are met.Utilize good time management to ensure timely completion of projects.Keep daily and weekly work logs.Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.Work directly with owner's representative at times and maintain a professional and client facing attitude.Ensure proper signage is posted on the construction job site and in jobsite officeReview subcontractor scopes and bids to ensure that all construction activities are accounted forSchedule inspections as needed along the jobs site.Maintain as strong a relationship as possible with local municipalities for potential future business.When necessary, assist project management team with negotiation and solicitation of subcontractorsMaintain and enforce company safety policy and proceduresMust attain OSHA 30 certificateMaintain a clean and well-organized jobsiteQualifications:10+ Years Project Superintendent experience3+ Years construction experience, preferably light-industrial, warehouses, and cold storage projectsAbility to collaborate with clients, PMs, and other management teams to establish budgets and timelinesStrong knowledge of on-site safety and security standardsProficiency with scheduling, delegating tasks, budgeting, and negotiating contractsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple tasks at onceExcellent time-management and scheduling skills to complete tasks ahead of deadlinesStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsValid driver's license to visit worksites across the assigned territory
