Java Developer

large university is looking for a Java Developer to support and enhance several missioncritical, custom developed Java applications that will remain in place post-golive. These applications support core business and student-facing systems, including degree audit, account claiming, and large-scale student onboarding workflows. The ideal candidate can quickly understand existing codebases, work semiindependently, and contribute to ongoing development and maintenance efforts. This role is custom application-focused and is not an integrations-heavy position, though some API consumption and light API development may be required once business logic is established.Also Include:Maintain and enhance large, custom Java applications supporting enterprise systems such as:Degree audit and student information systemsAccount claiming and onboarding applications (supporting ~15,000 u )Access provisioning workflowsRead, understand, and modify existing Java code with minimal rampup timeWrite and optimize basic SQL queries to support application functionalitySupport ongoing development of applications that will be retained long-term after goliveConsume existing APIs and develop limited APIs when business logic is already definedCollaborate with internal teams and integrators while focusing primarily on application-level developmentParticipate in knowledge transfer and quickly absorb domain and system knowledgeWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
