Details Works in the Family Birthing Center (L&D) of an acute care hospital setting Cares for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients as well as newborns Performs assessments for triage patients over 20 weeks gestation using obstetric triage acuity tools Manages a wide range of obstetric conditions including PTL, preeclampsia, ROM, PPROM, vaginal bleeding, and acute/critical presentations Administers obstetric medications including Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin Provides postpartum care for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including newborn assessments and medication administration Prepares patients for scheduled or emergency cesarean deliveries Floating between departments and/or local locations within a 20-mile radius is required 12-hour day shifts, 0700-1900, 3 days per week (36 hours/week) Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license required Current certifications required: BLS (through AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross), NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Minimum 2 years of current L&D/FBC nursing experience required ADN or ASN degree required (minimum) English fluency required (speaking, reading, and writing) Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information Epic EMR experience is preferred; on-site training is available for Epic Performs immediate newborn stabilization, assists with laboratory draws, IV starts, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care, and care of opiate withdrawal newborns Stabilizes critically ill newborns for transport as needed A Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test is administered during the first week of orientation; failure to pass will result in dismissal Former permanent employees of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-680609.
