The Controller partners closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term business growth.”WHAT YOU WILL DODEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENTLead and manage the Accounting DepartmentEstablish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectationsConduct performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, and staff developmentDevelop succession planning and cross-training initiativesFINANCIAL REPORTING & ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHTOversee monthly, quarterly, and annal close processesReview/approve/Post journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statementsEnhance financial reporting processes and ensure data integrity across systemsMaintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policiesTREASURY, TAX, & STRATEGIC LEADERSHIPPartner with CFO to oversee cash management, banking relationships, audits, and tax complianceSupport contract and subcontract financial reviews and risk assessmentsProvide insights and recommendations to improve margins and operational efficiencyPROCESS IMPROVEMENT & SYSTEMSCollaborate with various departments to address accounting and operational tasksIdentify areas within the department to increase efficiency and/or streamline process and implement solutionsSupport the Accounting department with other tasks and projects as business requiresEDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CPA, OR CFA a plus.7-10 years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience leading or mentoring a team across multiple accounting disciplinesFamiliarity with construction finance concepts: WIP reporting, job costing, backlog analysis.Advanced Excel and financial systems skills: ERP experience (Viewpoint) preferred.Experience in banking, bonding, and insurance compliance for construction firms preferred.Knowledge of multi-state tax and S-Corp shareholder requirements preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.Well organized with strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines consistently required.Ability to handle sensitive information and confidential information with discretion required.Willingness to submit to a comprehensive background check required.COMPENSATION & COMPANY BENEFITS INCLUDEThis is a full-time, exempt position.
