Job DescriptionPosition Title: Embedded Software EngineerPosition Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Direct Hire opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer with our client in Pasadena, California.Job Responsibilities:Develop and maintain software that drives test and measurement systems and pulls data from connected hardware componentsSupport the migration of legacy LabVIEW-based functionality into a modern C++ and Python architectureDesign and implement software that communicates with connected systems using SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) and VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture) protocolsDesign and implement software modules and algorithms that support system functionality (measurement, control, calibration, automation, data processing)Own and maintain the software stack for assigned systemsCollaborate with multiple team members across the hardware/software stackSupport future FPGA integration as systems evolve down the road.Job Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline requiredAt least 3 years of relevant experience in embedded software development, systems programming, or a closely related disciplineProficiency in C++, C#, and PythonWorking familiarity with LabVIEW sufficient to understand and migrate existing functionalityExperience with instrumentation communication protocols such as SCPI and VISAExperience developing software that interfaces with hardware components and captures measurement or sensor data.Job Details:Job Type: Direct HireLocation: Pasadena, California (Onsite).Salary Range: $120K to $150K.Due to government contract requirements, this position is restricted to U.S. Citizens onlyAbout Protingent: Protingent is an Award-Winning provider of top-tier Engineering and IT talent, trusted by companies at the forefront of innovation - from Software and Aerospace to AI, Clean Tech, Medical Devices, and Connected Technologies.
