Campus Ministry Associate - Iowa, Kansas, Missouri & Nebraska (Undergraduate & Faculty Ministries)Work Location:MissouriJob Type:Part timeTo advance the mission and purpose of InterVarsity, this position will focus on learning and preparing for the full responsibilities of a Campus Staff Minister. The Campus Ministry Associate will be assigned work based on skills determined by the application process. This is a one or two-year position in which the individual receives intensive training and exercises ministerial functions consistent with a Campus Staff Minister.Position is posted as Part-Time but will consider Full-Time positions as well.Personal Spiritual DutiesBe a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the worldPractice daily spiritual disciplinesPursue spiritual relationships and involvement in a worshipping communityContinue learning and growth in spiritual understanding, biblical knowledge, ministry experience and skillsExperience and live out an ongoing call to ministry service with InterVarsity and its missionMinistry LeadershipParticipate and be fully engaged in the ministry team to cast spiritual vision and direction, to contribute to the accomplishment of the team's plans for spiritual growth and transformation, and to provide area leadership in specific areasTeach students to love, study and apply Scripture to their livesLearn about and assist in leading in ministry to students and faculty on campusPromote and press forward the Mission on campus Seek opportunities to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus ChristLearn to guide chapters (or assigned segments of a chapter) in the development of strategic thinking regarding witness to the universityLearn to model and assist students and faculty in growing in their love for God's people of every ethnicity and cultureHelp to develop student and/or faculty ministry leadership teams, based on developing skillsEncourage a prayerful lifestyle in students and faculty, especially focusing on those who do not yet follow Jesus as Lord and SaviorEngage positively with the supervision you receive from your staff ministry directorPastoral Care and Support (assist as assigned and based on skill level)Provide pastoral care and support for student and/or leadership teams and individual students and facultyProvide training, resources and opportunities for students and faculty for their spiritual developmentRecruit students and/or faculty and providing specific leadership for conferences and projectsAdministrationPerform the necessary administrative tasks required to fulfill the purpose of InterVarsity and to comply with InterVarsity's policies and proceduresComply with Risk Management policiesFollow the budgeting and expense reporting guidelinesLead students in filing annual chapter affiliation, in coordination with assigned Campus Staff MinisterFulfill area and regional reporting requirementsFulfill national reporting requirementsMinistry Partner Development and Public RelationsServe as an ambassador of InterVarsity to individual ministry partners and churches, through prayer, discussion of ministry efforts, mission, and accomplishments.Carry out the tasks required for effective fund development and to develop strong public relations for the ministry of InterVarsityMaintain expenses within allocated budgetsSecure personal financial, prayer support and maintain a ministry among partners who will fund InterVarsityDevelop and implement an annual 30-day plan for raising personal budgetCommunicate with ministry partners at least four times a yearCultivate and maintain supportive relationships with alumniQUALIFICATIONSAnnually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement); abide by InterVarsity's Code of Conduct; believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity's Human Sexuality Theological Paper. Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity's "Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation"Exploring calling to InterVarsity and its missionBachelor's degree required for non-enrolled candidates assigned to four-year campuses; Associate's degree required for non-enrolled candidates assigned to two-year campusesPrior experience with InterVarsity or other campus ministry preferred (including as a student)Willing to receive training to become a Campus Staff MinisterAbility to contribute to an open and supportive relationship with ministry team membersMinistry skills: Prior experience teaching spiritual and biblical principles, planning ministry programs, and spiritually discipling othersExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated problem-solving skillsA supervisory decision, with input from the Campus Ministry Associate, is made at the end of the term of service as to whether the individual is suitable for continuing employment with InterVarsity.Pay Range: $35,088.00 - $46,776.00 per yearPay: This position is funded through personal fundraising. Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary. The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living. The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual's ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.Benefits:We offer a competitive benefits package, including health care and retirement savings with a match.
