Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.In the role of Construction Inspector I, we'll count on you to:Inspect highways, roadways, and bridge construction activitiesPlan, schedule, and coordinate construction inspections, quality assurance inspections of bridge and transportation projects, including foundations, paving, earthworkCoordinate with contractor, other inspectors, surveyors, and materials testers as well as documentation of the project progressBe responsible for maintaining accurate daily reports of construction site activity, field measurements for progress paymentProduce required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule, and budget statusCoordinate with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimatesPerform calculations to support the technical aspects of the work including shoring, falsework and quantitiesPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsTechnical school, Associate degree, or BS in engineeringSome demonstrated experience in construction inspectionAbility to interpret construction schedules2 years' experience working in construction inspection and management on Caltrans and/or local transportation agency highway, roadway, and/or bridge projects requiredExperience with Prolog, Primavera, etc. desiredRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentExperience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamThis position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testingAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe HDR is our company.
