DevOps Engineer

03/02/2018 - DevOps Engineer Syosett, NY Responsibilities: Participates in the development SDLC processes to create, support, and refine web applications. Design, implement, maintain, and upgrade the continuous integration environment utilized by the software development and testing teams, through automation, upgrades, and implementation of new features Actively involved in building out new environments for existing and new applications as required. Maintains scripts created to support automation of build and release tasks. Solve complex installation and integration challenges while documenting both solutions, analysis, and alternatives Supports build and branching strategies in coordination with the development teams. Working knowledge on Git, GitHub or Bitbucket to resolve merge conflicts. Implements and maintains cloud based infrastructure, security access policies, and automated provisioning. Supports monitoring solutions to ensure application performance and availability goals are met. Participate in on-call support rotation and takes ownership of escalated problem resolution. Maintain systems via patching, software updates, upgrades, and resolving security vulnerabilities Qualifications Needed: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required. Proven track record of building and supporting distributed teams, architecture and infrastructure (cloud and on-prem) for Jenkins Experience with scripting using bash, powershell, python, etc. Working knowledge on DevOps concepts and leading tools. Working knowledge on Jenkins, including installation, maintenance, provisioning and administration. Experience automating software build, test, and deployment pipelines following agile methodologies. Experience safely automating deployments of cloud infrastructure and services. Working knowledge in core TCP/IP networking and web services. Any certifications is a plus.
