CAD/CAM Programmer
Job Title: CAD / CAM ProgrammerLocation: Markham, ILDuration: Direct HireSalary Range: $80K – $90K/annumJob Description:We are seeking a skilled CAD/CAM Programmer to support precision manufacturing operations by developing and optimizing CNC programs. This role is responsible for translating engineering designs into efficient machine-ready code, ensuring high-quality production, and improving machining processes. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with CAD/CAM tools, strong CNC programming knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across engineering and production teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop 2D and 3D models using CAD software based on engineering drawings and specificationsCreate and optimize CNC programs, including toolpaths for machining operationsConvert design files into machine-readable code (G-code/M-code)Set up, test, and refine machining processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cycle timePerform simulations to identify and resolve programming or machining issues prior to productionCollaborate with engineers and machinists to improve manufacturability and process outcomesMaintain accurate documentation for programs, setups, and revisionsEnsure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and production requirementsQualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)Minimum 2+ years of experience in CAD/CAM programming or CNC machiningProficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., VersaFAB or similar platforms)Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materialsWorking knowledge of G-code and M-code programmingAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsStrong problem-solving skills with high attention to detailEffective communication and teamwork skillsIdeal Candidate ProfileHands-on programmer with a strong foundation in CNC machining and process optimizationDetail-oriented professional who prioritizes precision and quality in production outputsProactive problem-solver who can identify inefficiencies and implement improvementsCollaborative team player comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environmentExperience with advanced or specialized cutting/machining technologies is a plusDexian is a leading provider of staffing, IT, and workforce solutions with over 12,000 employees and 70 locations worldwide.
