This means a rotating schedule of working remotely and from the office.JOB SUMMARY:We are seeking aCertified Medical Assistant in ourAdult Hematology Engagement Centerclinic located inDurham, NC.The Medical Assistant, Certified, performs routine administrative and patient care supportive duties in a Health System remote practice that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform telephone message taking with patients, document encounter, follow protocols and escalation plans established by clinic leadershipManage telephone calls and in basket messages within scope.Forms managementParticipates in performance improvement projects.Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated.JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.High school or GED graduation required.Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. Please indicate on resume which certification you have, the certification number, and expiration date.BLS requiredLevel I -- No experience required.Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.JOB HOURS:Hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
