The ideal candidate designs and implements scalable, resilient backend APIs and responsive frontend applications aligned to business requirements. Candidate will follow Agile methodologies, contribute to design documentation, and drive quality through automated testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development tools,Job requirements Qualifications Require SkillsExcellent problem-solving skills, including identifying areas for improvement for application code and development processesStrong backend experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST/JSON APIs, JPA/Hibernate, and microservices architectureExperience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, SES, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch) and event-driven architectureStrong knowledge and development experience in component-based JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or EmberProficiency in HTML, CSS/SASS, and BootstrapExperience designing unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests (JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright)Experience with database design including Stored Procedures, DML, and DDL tasksExperience with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized applications using tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, and KubernetesAbility to stay up to date on the latest technologies and how to integrate them into new and existing systemsPreferred SkillsExperience developing UI librariesExperience with observability tooling — structured logging, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch Logs, CloudWatch Monitoring, AppDynamics, and/or SplunkExperience with Jmeter performance toolingExperience with PostgreSQL and/or cloud-managed databases (RDS, Aurora)Experience working in a scaled agile (SAFe) programExperience with JIRA and ConfluenceExcellent communication and teamwork skillsWhat We Offer • Competitive hourly rate (commensurate with experience).Flexible, remote work arrangement.Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, federally mandated modernization initiative.Collaborative environment with direct visibility on a nationally recognized federal program.All done!
