Position Summary: Development EngineerLocation: Amphenol: Valley Green, PA (Harrisburg Area)AICC, a division of Amphenol, is the market leader for high speed, highbandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobil Networks,Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM'sglobally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we havedesign, sales and manufacturing locations globally.We are currently seeking a Development Engineer to join our team. The positionwill be located in Valley Green, PA. As a Development Engineer for connectorMezzanine Products you will be responsible for concept generation, design,verification and qualification, as well as supporting new businessopportunities. Ensure that the product design is manufactural and will meet thedefined customer requirements - including electrical, mechanical andenvironmental requirements. The position will work as part of a globalcross-functional team and include customer interaction.RESPONSIBILITIES:Conceptualize, design, and develop power connector solutions as required bythe BU strategic roadmap and new business opportunities.Work with Front-end team and customers to define product/applicationrequirements.Lead product design reviews and create and communicate technicalpresentations.Develop testing programs to ensure products work per design intent.Present product concepts to customers early in development cycle, interpretfeedback, and incorporate any revised requirements into the design.Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications.Define a verification and product qualification test plans.Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to ensure products aretransitioned to the manufacturingQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering5+ years' experienceExperience in connector designProficient in 3D modeling using SolidworksGeneral understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.Excellent understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of theorganization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, TestLab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multipleactivities/projects simultaneously.ANSYS or other FEA simulation experience
