SQL Server Database Consultant

We specialize in high availability, performance optimization, cloud-based solutions, and custom database architecture. We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Consultant to join our team on a 1099 contract basis, providing expertise to our clients and working on exciting projects.Position Overview:We are looking for a highly skilled SQL Server Database Consultant to design, implement, and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. You will work directly with clients and internal teams, offering solutions that align with their technical and business needs.Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, including performance tuning and optimization.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.- Conduct database performance analysis, query tuning, and index management.- Implement database security protocols and best practices.- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and provide database solutions.- Support migration of databases to cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.- Implement automation for database management, backups, and monitoring.- Provide expert advice on database architecture, scalability, and performance.Required Skills & Experience:- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator, Developer, or Consultant.- Strong expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.- Proven experience with high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and database security.- Familiarity with SQL Server clustering, replication, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) for database management.- Expertise in database automation, scripting (T-SQL, PowerShell), and monitoring tools.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with other databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle is a plus.- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS is beneficial.
