Sr. SQL Database Administrator

AVER is seeking a Sr. SQL DBA, who is a technical expert to support activities related to administration of computerized databases at an enterprise level spanning application development, SharePoint, and data services. Join a collaborative team who values AVER’s mission, focus, and culture of delivering exceptional client service with great people and transformative technology solutions that ensure Government mission success. Responsibilities Include: Communicate with management, technicians, and end-users to evaluate the need prior to development of an automated solution Prepare detailed reports which might include system requirements, such as concurrent usage factors, data storage requirements, response rates, and discuss procedures for processing data using database management systems (DBMS) including relational data basesProject long- range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems functionDesign, create, and maintain enterprise databasesConduct quality control and auditing of databases in an enterprise environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of dataAdvise users on access to various enterprise database environmentsProvide support for SQL Server RDBMS installation, configuration, patching and upgrade from a hardware and software perspectiveAssist the development team with designing queries, make tuning adjustments, and schema level modificationsManage the database availability, backup/restoration and recovery. Assist with SQL migrationEducation Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or an equivalent/related fieldExperience Requirements: 10+ years of technical analysis experienceExpert level knowledge of query language and be proficient in SQLIn-depth knowledge of SQL Database high availability (Clustering and Replication) and disaster recovery technologyAbility to troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, deadlocking issues, replication issues and connectivity issuesAble to perform database administration for a number of mission critical environments by ensuring database availability and persistent monitoring of database performanceExperience with Azure ConsoleExperience with document backup and all environmentsDesired Requirements:Experience with SQL Cloud migrationsExperience administering Azure SQLLocation REMOTE (Local in Washington, DC) Security Requirement:Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)This role supports a government agency that requires U.S. citizenshipAbout Us:AVER, LLC is a Data & Digital Transformation company committed to delivering exceptional client service through the use of transformative technology solutions and a team of highly skilled professionals.
