We are looking for staff who are passionate, exhibit the core values of excellence, have a commitment to safety, and value fun in everything they do.Job Summary:OGX is seeking a Lead Barista to be the front line supervisor for its Café Operations at the NYC Flagship location. The Lead Barista will be responsible for the daily oversight, training, and development of team members, and delivering exceptional Guest Experience. They will be the LOD (Leader on Duty) for the retail café and must display leadership abilities while working as part of a team to yield goal-oriented results.This part-time position pays $21.00 per hour.Responsibilities:Provide leadership and sound judgment to the Café Services team to the benefit of the companyImplement operations policies, processes, procedures, and standards as it relates to the café and overall food/beverage departmentTrain and develop a world-class retail café operations teamActively participate in defining the team culture and incorporating it into the café operationsAssist in establishing basic personnel standards for the café and overall food/beverage departmentBe part of the LOD (Leader on Duty) retail café rotationAssess the effectiveness of the team, providing feedback to management, and enforcing disciplinary actions as outlined in the employee handbook and trainingOversee inventory levels; notify upper management of re-order needs to ensure smooth operationAdditional duties as assignedRequirements:Must possess NYC Food Handler's CertificateMust be able to remain in a standing, stationary position more than 75% of the timeMust be able to work a minimum of three shifts, one of which must be a weekend dayMust be able to frequently move food service inventory and equipment weighing up to 25 poundsMust be able to move about inside the retail coffee shop spaceMust be able to work under pressure and in a fast paced environmentMust be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidaysYour Strengths:Proven ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic teamExtremely organized and detail-orientedAbility to multitask effectivelyMaintains composure under pressure and enjoys working in a fluid environmentExcellent problem solverAbility to effectively interface with the publicYour Experience:2+ years of experience in food and beverage service/industry; previous café/barista experience a plusHigh school diploma (or its equivalent), some college is preferred (current students welcome to apply)One year of supervisory or management experienceBenefits:Flexible SchedulePaid Sick TimeWhy work at OGX:For us it's all about the fans and creating experiences they will love.
