Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Overview
In this role you will help transform ideas into scalable manufacturing solutions at Aptiv's Champion Technical Center. You’ll work with Product and Operations to develop processes from prototype to serial production, integrating advanced technologies and tooling. You’ll drive data-driven decisions, collaborate across teams and suppliers, and ensure compliance with customer requirements. This position offers hands-on development, cross-functional impact, and a focus on safer, greener, and more connected automotive solutions.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop manufacturing processes from prototype to serial productionDesign and build tooling and fixturing for development projectsLead advanced manufacturing projects to improve existing methodsIncorporate leading-edge technology into Aptiv processes and designsDocument work instructions, lessons learned, and provide project updates to managementDevelop process estimates and contribute to SOW for industrialization with Engineering, Plant, and SuppliersInteract with suppliers to communicate requirements and drive project timelinesUtilize data-driven decision making in engineering decisionsEnsure compliance with customer requirements
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar3+ years of experience building/repairing/improving machines or processes in a manufacturing/shop environment3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environmentAbility to visualize and understand dynamic processes and component interactionsProficient in CAD/CAM packages and bringing designs to life in lab or production settingsStrong problem-solving and collaboration skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills and teamworkproblem solvingcollaborationcommunicationCAD/CAM proficiency (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, NX, Mastercam, Trumpf TruTops)Process design and improvement in manufacturing environmentsDesign for Manufacturing (DFM)
