Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Title: Infrastructure Automation Engineer (AWS, Terraform & WebSphere)Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybird)Duration: 6 months+ (Long term)Job SummaryWe are looking for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in AWS, IBM WebSphere, and Terraform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating infrastructure provisioning, WebSphere administration, deployment workflows, and configuration management across enterprise environments.This role requires a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, middleware operations, DevOps practices, and scripting. The candidate should be comfortable working in production-grade environments and driving automation to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and support scalable operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement infrastructure automation on AWS using TerraformManage and automate IBM WebSphere Application Server administration tasksBuild and maintain scripts for WebSphere configuration, deployment, and validationSupport CI/CD pipeline integration using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub ActionsAutomate environment provisioning, configuration changes, and deployment processesMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and middleware issuesCollaborate with application, DevOps, release, and platform teams for smooth deliveryMaintain documentation, runbooks, and operational proceduresEnsure compliance with security, governance, and enterprise deployment standardsRequired SkillsStrong hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, and Load BalancersStrong experience in Terraform and Infrastructure as CodeHands-on experience administering IBM WebSphere Application ServerExperience with WebSphere scripting using wsadmin and JythonExperience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD toolsGood scripting knowledge in Python, Shell, or similarGood understanding of Linux or Unix systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience with Git-based source control and deployment workflowsPreferred SkillsExperience in enterprise middleware automation projectsKnowledge of WebSphere deployment, datasource setup, SSL, JVM tuning, and thread pool managementExposure to hybrid cloud or on-prem plus cloud environmentsUnderstanding of release management and production support processesFamiliarity with monitoring and logging toolsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field4+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure, middleware, or DevOps automationProven experience working with AWS, Terraform, and WebSphere in enterprise environmentsWhat We Are Looking ForStrong ownership and execution mindsetAbility to work independently in a fast-paced delivery environmentGood communication and stakeholder coordination skills📩 Interested or know someone who fits?DM me or share your resume at taukir@wiseskulls.com
